Biography        
One of the greatest tenors of the young generation. He graduated in 1996 with favoritism in The Stanis³aw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk in a class led by a great artist and educator prof. Piotr Kusiewicz. Laureate of national and international vocal contests.
In 1993 he won the Placido Domingo's first international vocal contest in Paris as a youngest participant and as the only Pole. In 2002 he won the IV international tenor contest in Szczecin.
In 1997 in occasion to solemnize 1000 years of Gdansk he had an honour to perform a concert directed by prof. Jerzy Katlewicz in presence of pope John Paul II in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican.
He has also been a guest in many music festivals in Poland,Europe and Canada (Missisaga Living Arts Centre) i USA (Chicago Symphony Center).
For the work he's done so far he was awarded by the Society of the Sciences and Art's Friends in Gdansk (1993).
He also became the YAMAHA scholarship holder (1995).
His debut in opera took place in April 1996 in Baltic Opera in Gdansk where he played the part of Ernest in G.Donizettie's „Don Pasquale”.

Currently he is the first tenor of the National Baltic Opera Theatre, he co-operates with opera theatres and philharmonics in all across Poland playing main parts in operas, operettas and oratorys arts of many epoch composers.
He has been a member of “The Three Polish Tenors“ since 2002. In 2006 He took part in the world preview of Roger Water's (Pink Floyd) opera "Ça Ira". In the same year his solo album titled “Polish Songs” was published and was enthusiastically admitted by the critics and listeners which can be proved by the Fredericks prize nomination in 2006. He has made many records for the Polish Radio and Polish TV.

Pawel Skaluba has done numerous recordings for the Polish National Radio and Television Stations as well as released four compact discs, entitled ”Mess d-moll” by E.T.A. Hoffmann with Capella Cracoviensis (copyright 1993, KOCH), and ”Canons” by S. Moniuszko (copyright 2000, DUX). In 2000, the latter release has been nominated by the members of the recording industry for the prestigious “Fryderyki”, the Polish music awards.

He has won many vocal competitions in Poland and abroad, and became the recipient of the YAMAHA scholarship. In 1993, he was the only Polish representative and the overall youngest participant in the first Placido Domingo International Vocal Competition in Paris, where he became the finalist.

In 1997, Pawel Skaluba had the honour to perform in the presence of the Pope John Paul II in Vatican, at a special concert conducted by professor Jerzy Katlewicz in celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the Polish city of Gdansk.
